Late July Snacks… Something CHANGED

It is with great sadness that I report, that my favorite thin, crispy, delicious tortilla chips have morphed into a thicker, pastier, less whispey and wonderful snack.

These chips were my go-to for a tortilla chip that I could trust to use organic (or at least non-gmo) corn and actually taste good, while not being so thick and crunchy that there remained some probability of impaling my gums with knife-sharp/hard edges. They were YUMMY, they were DIFFERENT…. and NOW – they are exactly like EVERY OTHER tortilla chip.

Why does this happen? Well, come to find out that these guys sold to Campbell’s food around 2020. So, it is no surprise that the ingredients, quality, and method of production have changed – they would HAVE TO in order to become a national brand.

It is part of it – with great success comes great opportunity… for THEM.. and for anyone who LOVES a quality snack made with love – it is part of a process of seeking out more local and more natural vendors who still care about their customer.
