An Overview of What You Need to Know About CBD

There are a range of health problems and diseases that are a part of this research showing that cannabinoids - including the non-psychotropic cannabinoid CBD (Cannabidiol) can: fight cancer cells and tumors, improve brain function, help fight various neurological diseases, aid in the suppression of seizures, protect the body from inflammation, provide anxiety relief, improve sleep, and suppress overall pain in the body. Before we jump into how CBD can help people, we must first understand what it is. CBD is an abbreviation for Cannabidiol – a compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD is completely non-psychoactive, but is responsible for many of the medical properties within cannabis.  As more and more people become aware (even the Today Show had a recent article on CBD for health) of the potential healing properties of cannabinoids, it is important to learn more about the people and process behind the product that you try.

What does it help with? There are studies showing that it may help with a variety of issues including: anxiety, schizophrenia, psychosis, opiate addictions, epilepsy, inflammation, and acne. For actual studies, you can view this page.

How should you take CBD? That’s completely up to you! However, many people use “tinctures”, or oils, under their tongue, while others may use topical products, and some companies have edible products like chocolate.

Is CBD safe? Although more studies are needed, there are not currently any known side effects that cause serious issues. Some people, if they “take too much” may become very sleepy/lethargic, may have a change in bowel movements, or may have some stomach pain, however in most circumstances, this is only for people taking exuberant amounts of CBD at a time.

How much CBD should I take? Again, that is up to every person to decide for themselves until further testing can be done. Most customers here at That’s Natural are taking around 10mg’s a day, however some take significantly more or less than that depending on what they are using it for.

Can my pets consume CBD? Absolutely. More and more people are giving CBD to their pets for issues ranging from anxiety to pain. Because CBD is non-psychoactive, owners don’t have to worry about their pets getting “high” or “stoned”. There are actually studies showing that CBD has a high protective index, meaning you can use a lot of it without causing any toxicity issues.
