Here’s a link to the journal article “In Vitro Anticancer Activity of Plant-Derived Cannabidiol on Prostate Cancer Cell Lines“.  There is mounting evidence that non-psychoactive cannabinoids (like CBD) may have therapeutic effects for cancer-related issues.

From the abstract:

“Our overall findings support the concept that cannabidiol, which lacks psychotropic activity, may possess anti-inflammatory property and down regulates both cannabinoid receptors, PSA, VEGF, IL-6 and IL-8…..This activity may contribute to its anticancer and chemosensitizing effect against prostate cancer. Cannabidiol and other non-habit forming cannabinoids could be used as novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of prostate cancer.”

The Endocannabinoid System, which research is finding to be at the heart of many physiological functions, may play a major role in how bodies act and react to plant-based compounds like cannabinoids and terpenes.
